Britney
Spears Signs Divorce
Settlement
Britney
Spears
has agreed a divorce
settlement with her
estranged husband Kevin
Federline, according to
People magazine's
website.
Britney,
who left rehab last
week, filed for divorce
in November after two
years of marriage. They
have two
children.
"The
parties signed a global
settlement on all issues
of their marriage and
the custody of the
children," a spokesman
for Federline's attorney
told People.
A
judge must approve the
settlement for the
divorce to become
final.
Britney
Spears, 25, and
Federline, 29, were
married in a surprise
ceremony in September
2004. The singer filed
for divorce in November
last year, citing
irreconcilable
differences.
Federline,
a former backup dancer,
could get $1m. He could
share custody of the
couple's two sons, aged
18 months and six
months.
The
couple currently have
joint custody under a
temporary court
order.
Britney
Spear's first marriage
to childhood friend
Jason Alexander was
annulled after just 55
hours.
At
the time her record
company claimed the
wedding, which took
place in Las Vegas, had
simply been a joke that
went too far.
Britney
Spears recently
completed a one-month
treatment at the
Promises Malibu Alcohol
and Drug Rehab Treatment
Facility in
California.
The
star completed the
treatment at the third
attempt after twice
reportedly entering the
clinic but then leaving
again after just one
day.
She
first checked herself in
on 22 February, after
shaving her head in
public.
