Ray
Liotta's TV Comeback
Cancelled
Ray
Liotta's
much-heralded return to
television has gone awry
- the movie star's show
Smith has been cancelled
by CBS.
The
show has the dubious
distinction of being the
first officially dumped
by a network this
autumn.
Ray
Liotta chose to get back
into television after a
successful and
award-winning guest spot
on ER.
However,
he had recently told an
interviewer that he had
only signed on for one
season, hardly the kind
of talk that networks
want to hear when it's
all about keeping a show
running as long as
possible.
Smith
followed Ray as a family
man who has a double
life as a high-end
thief. It also starred
Virginia Madsen as his
wife and Jonny Lee
Miller as one of the
crew.
Unfortunately,
the show never took off,
garnering only eight and
a half million viewers
opposite Law &
Order: SVU and William
Shatner in Boston
Legal.
