Jennifer
Aniston Treads The
Broadway
Boards
Not
to be outdone by
boyfriend Vince Vaughn's
appearance in London's
24 Hour Plays two weeks
ago, Jennifer
Aniston
made her Broadway debut
on Monday night for New
York's own 24 Hour Plays
charity gala.
The
6th Annual 24 Hour Plays
on Broadway benefit
featured six 10-minute
plays, conceived,
written, rehearsed and
performed by an array of
top US actors within 24
hours.
Jennifer
Aniston made her first
Broadway appearance in
the play Three Girls And
Bob, playing a single
woman who attends an
intimacy workshop with
two friends, played by
Rosie Perez and Lynn
Whitfield, before trying
out her new tactics on a
hapless suitor, played
by David
Cross.
Aniston's
co-star Rosie Perez, who
is a board member of the
event's charity, Working
Playground, which raises
funds to give New York
school children an arts
education, says that
Aniston "was as sweet as
pie".
Describing
Jennifer's stage
performance, Perez said:
"She's got chops. She
said she had performed
Off-Broadway. She's
really, really
good.
Aniston
reportedly brought a
chef's jacket along to
the initial cast meeting
on Sunday night as her
inspiration.
Other
actors taking part in
the Broadway
extravaganza included
Anna Paquin, Kieran
Culkin, Julianna
Margulies, Sam Rockwell,
Liev Schreiber and
Fisher
Stevens.
Aniston's
performance was greeted
with rapturous applause
from the audience and a
glowing review in the
New York Post describing
Aniston's performance as
"a hit debut on
Broadway."
