Hilton
Sisters Bring In The
Business
As
multi-millionaire hotel
heiresses they could
have sat back and
enjoyed the room
service, but Nicky and
Paris
Hilton
are busy making their
own fortunes without the
help of mum and dad. The
famous siblings have
both been promoting new
projects this week with
their own brand of
celebrity
charm.
"I've
been around hotels my
whole life, and I know a
good hotel when I see
one," says Nicky who is
launching her own
boutique hotel chain.
The 22-year-old
entrepreneur, who held a
preview party in Miami
for her Nicky O hotel in
South Beach on Thursday,
is clearly keen to enter
the family trade. "I
think the business is
just in me" says Nicky
who lived in the
luxurious Waldorf Towers
in New York as a
child.
With
her long blonde hair and
stylish wardrobe she's
outwardly similar to her
famous older sister,
but, says Nicky, they
couldn't be more
different. "We're super
close, but we're like
night and day," she told
a US newspaper. "We're
trying to achieve
totally different
things. She's into the
music and acting and the
Hollywood thing and
that's really cool. And
I'm into the fashion and
hotel thing, and she
thinks that's cool,
too."
Nicky,
who says she's "too shy
to want to be famous",
is taking a hands on
approach to her new
Nicky O hotel chain
the "O" stands
for her middle name
Olivia. "I'm designing
the staff uniforms, the
linens, the pens, the
matchboxes, everything"
she declares. Her South
Beach hotel is set to
open in November
followed by one in
Chicago. "Miami will
definitely be a party
destination, and Chicago
will be a little more
calm," she
says.
Meanwhile,
Paris has been
publicising her
self-named album and hit
single Stars Are Blind
which has already been
well received Stateside.
A multi-millionairess in
her own right with a
successful TV and
modelling career and
perfume brand, the
business-savvy A-lister
is now hoping to make
her mark in the music
industry.
The
25-year-old was joined
by her supportive mum
Kathy in New York on
Wednesday where she held
a release party for her
first album Paris. And
the Simple Life star
says music has always
been a passion. "I've
been singing and playing
the piano and violin
since I was six years
old," she
said.
