Teri
Hatcher Hurt By
Exploding
Bulb
Desperate
Housewives star
Teri
Hatcher
was injured when a light
bulb exploded on the
show's set, sending
shattered glass into her
right eye.
The
actress said she was in
some pain and was
wearing an eye patch,
but was trying to see
the funny side of the
incident.
"Glass
lodged in my right eye
and proceeded to scratch
my cornea," she
explained.
"I
was taken to a wonderful
eye doctor, and now am
wearing a most glamorous
eye patch over the right
half of my face. I like
to look at the positive,
and the good news is the
cornea is the fastest
healing tissue in the
body. I'm in some pain,
but trying to see the
humour in the oddity of
it all. No one was at
fault."
Teri
Hatcher said she should
be back at work in two
days.
Her
injury meant she could
not attend the launch of
the AmberWatch
Foundation, an
organisation dedicated
to preventing child
abduction and
molestation, of which
she is the new
spokeswoman.
Teri
Hatcher recently
revealed she had been
molested by her uncle
when she was five years
old, and had approached
prosecutors in 2002
after discovering that a
14-year-old victim of
the man had committed
suicide.
After
Teri Hatcher came
forward, Richard Hayes
Stone pleaded guilty to
four counts of child
molestation in the
girl's case and was
jailed for 14
years.
