Pete
Doherty's Drug Check
Date Put
Back
Singer
Pete
Doherty's
court date to check
whether he is quitting
drugs has been put back
to June 9,
2006.
The
Babyshambles front man
did not appear at east
London's Thames
Magistrates Court for a
drugs review because he
is set to attend a
similar legal check-up
next week, his lawyer
Sean Curran
said.
In
April 2006 Pete Doherty,
who admitted seven
charges of possessing
drugs including heroin,
cocaine and cannabis,
was sentenced to a
community order with two
years' supervision and
18 months' drug
rehabilitation.
His
progress in kicking the
habit was due to be
checked, but a June 9
review had also been set
as part of a 12-month
community order when he
was sentenced in
February on a separate
charge of seven counts
of possessing controlled
drugs.
District
Judge Jane McIvor
vacated the hearing and
joined the two reviews
for June 9 when Doherty,
27, of Hackney, east
London, is expected to
appear at
court.
The
judge has warned Doherty
that he faces jail if he
does not stay off
drugs.
