Jodie
Kidd Promotes Online Car
Tax
Supermodel
Jodie
Kidd
is joining forces with
the Royal
Navy
aboard giant helicopter
carrier HMS Ocean to
promote the
DVLA's
new car tax online
service.
Aboard
the 208 metre warship in
Plymouth, car enthusiast
Ms Kidd will be using
the ship's internet
facilities to show
officers and crew how
easy it is to renew
their car tax or declare
their vehicle off road
(SORN) - wherever they
are in the
world.
The
vessel has a crew of
255, an aircrew of over
200, and can carry 480
Royal
Marines.
Ms
Kidd said: "This new car
tax online service is so
fantastically easy to
use that there really is
no excuse for anyone not
to tax their car or
declare SORN on time -
even if they're in the
middle of the
ocean.
A
Royal Navy spokesman
said: "The Royal Navy
welcomes the chance to
help the DVLA promote
their new online
service. It will be of
great use to deployed
servicemen and
women."
DVLA
spokeswoman Carolyn
Williams said: "More
than 2.2 million people
have used the service to
date, and it is
anticipated that more
than 19 million people
will have successfully
transacted by
2008."
