No More Acting,
Says Madonna
Madonna
has vowed to stick to the microphone and
give up on her acting career.
The
singer has appeared in films such as
Shanghai
Surprise
and Body
Of
Evidence.
"Making
movies is such an effort, and to do that
over and over again, with the possibility
that I am going to get the shit kicked out
of me - and they really enjoy doing it - I
mean, it doesn't make sense. I have sort
of let it go," the singer said.
Madonna's
last film, Swept
Away,
was directed by her husband Guy Ritchie
four years ago.
She also
took the starring role in the 1996 film
version of Evita, opposite Antonio
Banderas.
Despite
her latest statement on acting, the singer
is set to lend her voice to the character
of Princess Selenia in Luc Besson's
animation and live action film Arthur and
the Minimoys. The movie will feature the
vocal talents of fellow musicians Snoop
Dogg and David Bowie.
As a
singer, Madonna has enjoyed a revitalised
career thanks to the launch of her latest
album, Confessions
On A
Dancefloor.
The
singer recently won a Brit award as best
international female.
