Teenager Still
Awaits Chris Evans Gift
The
father of a teenage golfer promised a
£10,000 diamond six months ago by
media mogul Chris Evans, said she is still
waiting to receive her gift.
Shop
worker Natalie Harrison of Rhuddlan, north
Wales, was flabbergasted when, in a blaze
of publicity, the ginger star insisted she
accept the flawless Russian-cut gem he won
at last year's AllStar Cup at the Celtic
Manor.
Evans
credited the 17-year-old with winning him
the jewel for being voted Player of the
Tournament award by providing expert
advice when caddying for him over four
days of competition on August Bank
Holiday.
Ms
Harrison wasn't immediately given the
diamond as Evans promised to make a
necklace out of it before presenting it to
her.
Nearly
six months on, Natalie's father Stephen,
said they have yet to receive the gift and
it is getting "embarrassing" when people
ask where it is.
Mr
Harrison said: "Whenever I ring Chris
Evans' people up they seem to be passing
the buck all the time. I have phoned Chris
Evans' representative a few times and he
has told me 'It is being dealt with, it is
being dealt with', but six months is a
long time to wait.
"It is
getting embarrassing whenever we are asked
where the diamond is. Why it has taken
this long I don't know. We don't even
mention to Natalie anymore because it has
gone on so long. She had such a great time
caddying for Chris over four days at the
tournament and it has just got
embarrassing now. I don't blame Chris
Evans. I just feel he has been let down by
the people working for him."
Chris
Evans representatives were unavailable for
comment.
